Question 1

What is realty.cr?

Accepted Answer

A platform by Almendro for listing properties for sale in Costa Rica. Every seller has a page on realty.cr, with their properties, the photos of each one and a permanent QR code for the sign.

Question 2

Who can list properties?

Accepted Answer

Anyone with a property for sale: an owner selling their own property, a broker or an agency. Create your account with your name, email and a password, confirm your email and open your seller space.

Question 3

What kind of property can I list?

Accepted Answer

Properties for sale: lots, houses, farms, apartments, commercial spaces and others. Each one has its type, its price or "price on request", the area, the location, the services and a description, along with the photos.

Question 4

What is the address of my page?

Accepted Answer

You choose it when you open your space: realty.cr/your-name. It has to be unique and cannot match a section of the site. If you change it later, the old address leads to the new one.

Question 5

What does the link look like when I share it on WhatsApp?

Accepted Answer

Every property has its own preview, with its title, its price and its cover photo. That way, whoever gets the link knows which property it is before opening it.

Question 6

How do I upload the photos?

Accepted Answer

From your account, on your phone or your computer: pick several photos at once. They are reduced on the device before uploading, so they upload quickly even on mobile data. Then you sort them by dragging and choose the cover photo.

Question 7

Which photo formats are accepted?

Accepted Answer

JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 25 MB per photo. The HEIC format some iPhones use is not accepted: when you upload from the iPhone itself, the browser usually converts it to JPG; if you upload from a computer, convert it first.

Question 8

Can I use photos someone sent me on WhatsApp?

Accepted Answer

You can, but they look worse: WhatsApp compresses them and strips out detail. If you can, upload the originals from your phone gallery, Google Photos or Drive, or ask for them to be sent on WhatsApp as a document.

Question 9

Do the photos reveal where they were taken?

Accepted Answer

No. When each photo is processed, the data the phone stores in it is removed, including the GPS location. The location that gets published is the one you enter for the property.

Question 10

What is the QR code for?

Accepted Answer

Each property has its own QR code, and so does your seller page. It goes on the sign: anyone who scans it with their phone sees the photos and details of the property and can contact you right away. You download it as a PNG for your phone and WhatsApp, and as a PDF for the sign maker.

Question 11

Does the QR code stop working if I change something?

Accepted Answer

No, the code never changes. If your page name changes, the QR code still leads to the property. If the property sells, its page says so and shows your other properties; if you archive it, the QR code leads to your seller page.

Question 12

How big should the QR code be on the sign?

Accepted Answer

As a rule, each side of the QR code should be at least one tenth of the distance it will be read from: 30 cm to read it from 3 meters and 50 cm from 5 meters. Print it dark on a light background, with a white margin around it, and test it with a phone before the sign is made.

Question 13

How do I contact the seller?

Accepted Answer

From the property page, with the WhatsApp button, which opens the chat with a message that already names the property, or with the call button. The message goes straight to the seller.

Question 14

Does realty.cr take part in the sale?

Accepted Answer

No. realty.cr lists the properties and puts buyers in touch with sellers. The price, the viewings and the paperwork are agreed directly between the two.

Question 15

What do "Reserved" and "Sold" mean?

Accepted Answer

It is the status the seller sets. A reserved or sold property stays visible with a band that says so, so nobody asks about something that is no longer available.

Question 16

Who publishes the details of each property?

Accepted Answer

The seller: each seller lists their properties and their details, including the cadastral map if they choose to show it. Before paying any amount, verify the property and the person selling it.
